An exciting start with Robbie Pear opening the scoring with a sensational goal from just inside the penalty area after only 2 minutes of the game, 10minutes later with the visitors under pressure a mix up from searching cross from the Hares saw the Academy left back slice the ball into his own net. On 20 mins, a goal hungry Tom Ciarla had a shot parried but followed it up and scored, to make it 3-0. A few minutes later Roy Devilia slid a beautiful left footed shot just inside the right hand post to make it 4-0. Later Robbie Pear looked to have scored again with a strong header only to see it rattle against the cross bar. Just before half time the Academy, through Robar Gozel pulled back a goal to make it 4-1 at the break.

Tom Ciarla opened the second half scoring an early goal to make it 5-1 and bringing his season total to12 but then the game seemed deteriorate and become quite scrappy with both teams losing structure and shape. Roy Devilia and Jordan Fort worked very hard and jointly deservedly won the Man of Match awards.

Sadly brave defending by the captain, Ben Leader, saw him pick up a nasty injury to the face which resulted in a visit to A&E and later confirmation of a broken nose – we wish him a speedy recovery.
