Tough physical opponents for the U7’s today which gave our boys a challenge but they did play some good football at times and Austin got on the score sheet again. Next week away to Biggleswade.

A wonderful footballing performance from the U8 Orange this morning away to a physical Plantation youth, despite coming a close second in the score line all the football was played by Hares. Letting in a early goal from trying to play out from the back did not stop the boys continuing to try their passing game and it made for an exciting watch for supporters to see the two different styles of play. The more clinical finishing from Plantation gave them the edge but if Hares had taken their chances things could have been different. Despite a brace of fine goals from Sonny MOM went to Fin (The Rock) who worked tirelessly the whole game.

A bit of a miss match of abilities when the U8 Black’s travelled to Ashwell today, a very one sided game saw Hares come out well on top. Despite playing with 3 extra players Ashwell could not stop Hares from dominating the game but to their credit the home team battled on to the last whistle. There were goals from every Hares player and Oliver took his total to 10 goals from two games, MOM though went to Jacob for his swift accurate passing, always one pass ahead of most.

Back to winning ways for U10 Blacks today away at Baldock. Some great team play earned a very well deserved result, and a very good defensive display keeping a clean sheet.
Goals from Leo and Noah with MOTM going to Sofia.

It was Sunday 2nd October, a distinctly autumnal, and windy day. However, this didn’t prevent eight of our fabulous U11 team arriving looking sharp, and ready to take on Caldecote. The statistics were more than impressive, with four winning games under our shin pads, and even a player down didn’t affect our high spirits. Could the all man sideline keep the boys focused and motivated? The game started and both teams were keen to prove themselves. A great tackle from Mike Cannell saw the ball head up to Seth Holleyman. He controlled it with his heal, and passed to William Davey, who struck it in the top left corner. Caldecote were keen to be back in the game, and even though the Hares worked hard, the ball made it to the area. Like a shot from a cannonball Miles Nash, the keeper, flew to the floor, with an excellent save. The ball was skilfully moved from Sammy Daniels, to Jasper Baines and then onto Seth Holleyman, who took a long shot from outside the box, and cleared it in the top right hand corner. Caldecote fought back with some great passing, a super tackle by Nathan Tye, cleared the ball off the pitch. A corner taken by Caldecote, saw another shot taken from the box, but Miles Nash was there to deflect it. Luke Rannow made a great tackle, and he passed to William Davey. With determination in Will’s eyes he fought through the players, and struck to the back of the net. The all man sideline was clearly a winning combination. With many hard games ahead, the Under 11’s must remain determined, and match ready. A special mention goes out to Miles Nash who won man of the match, for his tremendous efforts in goal. The Coach Baines award goes to Mike Cannell for some great tackles, and for sheer determination. Special thanks to Chris Tye, for referring the game, and always being professional and fair. Thank you to Steve Holleyman for running the line, and much appreciation to Coach Baines for supporting and encouraging the players each week.

In a truly one sided encounter the U12’s recorded their biggest ever win with an 0-18 victory against Stevenage Boro Diamondbacks. Having played 2 evenly matched games so far in our league this game really was a mis-match for all concerned. Even changing the team around at half time by playing players out of their usual positions, and offering to reduce our numbers on the pitch, the Hares were still too strong for our opponents and resulted in ALL the outfield players scoring. For the record the goal scorers were as follows: Joey, George, George, George, George, George, George, Luke, George, OG, George, Barney, Jake, Billy, Barney, Tom, Tom, Ben.

Hares Youth U14 5 – Ware Youth 0

Following on from last match the U14s played some of the best passing football so far this season. This was specifically mentioned to the Hares manager after the game by the opposition manager and referee who were complimentary in the style of football we ask the boys to try and play.

4-0 up at half time with goals from Harry, Dom, Noah and William (pen) , with just the additional 1 goal scored by Daniel in 2nd half completed the scoring. To their credit Ware Youth battled to the end and their goalkeeper had an exceptional game.
