Well done to all the U7 boys today another great game, this time against Hitchin Town Tigers. It was an end to end game with Hares being the stronger of the two sides, our passing as a team has improved and we were rewarded by scoring several goals because of it.
The U8 Blacks traveled to Shefford this morning and we were treated to an excellent end to end game from start to finish. Hares gave a good account of themselves and scored some wonderful teams goals and a wonder solo goal from MOM Oliver. Shefford took advantage of Hares mistakes trying to play out from the back on more than one occasion but the boys continued to play the way the coach wanted and played some wonderful passing football, a great game of football from both teams.
What an exciting game for the U10 Blacks this morning at home against a very good Melbourn side. A very even match in the first half with both teams trying to find their feet and push for a goal and it was Melbourn who scored first with a nice strike. Second half Hares went out and really took the game to Melbourn, they started passing the ball around and threatening the opposition goal. The more time went on the more the Blacks confidence grew and the football they were playing got better and better. Hares were rewarded with goals from Leo, Noah and Sofia with Melbourn pushing right to the final whistle. Man of the match went to Noah.
The U12‘s returned to Letchworth this Sunday, this time for a League match against the Yellows. The Hares struggled to get going in a scrappy start to the game but they broke the deadlock with a George Clark strike from a Tom Griffiths cross. Although going ahead in the game The Hares were still struggling to get into their stride and the equaliser by the home side made the score 1-1 at half time. A much improved start by The Hares to the second half saw them take the lead with a Barney O’Hara goal from a Luke Spowart corner. GC added to his tally with his second of the game after a through ball from Niall Dedman and Tom Griffiths made it 4 with a fine run and finish. The Hares were now getting their passing going and soon it was 5 when GC bagged his 3rd of the game after a free kick from Luke Spowart. Tom G added his second of the game and not to be outdone by GC, he completed his hat-trick to make the final score 1-7. The result takes the Hares back to the top of the League with 1 game to go before the re-shuffle, which should see them move up a Division for the next round of fixtures.
Sadly second loss in a row for the U14s. Beaten 2-1 in the County Cup to a very physical St Albans side. Great penalty from Harry in the 2nd half and battled in the last half an hour to try and get an equaliser but it wasn’t to be. MOTM Austen G Even though Hares took the deserved win they were pushed right to the very final whistle. There were goals for Leo, Noah and Sofia, and man of the match went to Noah.
