Great cold game today for the U7s at home to Buntingford Cougars Whites, a well-rounded performance. Everyone played their new black socks off, except Thomas who played his orange socks off. Goals again from James, Austin & Henry.

The U8 Black had to up their game after being moved up to the top division. Playing against a very strong Stevenage Cobras team the boys held their own in a very equally matched first half. The second half Hares had a sleepy start but then they upped their game and began to put Cobras under pressure. An end to end game saw both teams coming close to scoring and missing good chances. It was Hares who had the better of the last chances with a brace of goals from Oliver giving the boys some deserved goals. A great performance from all and a well-earned MOM from Kirin for his energetic performance in midfield.

The U8 Orange had a massive test this weekend at home against a very strong Letchworth Black team. Letchworth had the Hares under pressure then all of a sudden the home team work up and started to make a game of it. When Letchworth did break forward they could not get the ball past Sonny in goal who was playing as a sweeper on the edge of his box and when they managed to get a shot in Sonny got back to make a double save of the season. In the second half with Sonny out of goal the boys went to sleep but to Hares credit they did not give up and started to put Letchworth under pressure, missing several chances to score. MOM was Sonny a keeper in the making.

A tough game for the U10 Blacks today away at Pin Green. We knew it was going to be a challenge but the players went out onto the pitch determined and ready. Hares played some very good football at times but they were up against a team with some physical and very fast players who had just recently come down from a higher division. Even though it wasn’t a result the Hares wanted, the Black’s players never gave up trying. For the coach it was very hard to pin point just one Hares player as they all pulled together and played as a team and continued to play as a team right to the end. The result certainly didn’t reflect the effort and commitment that the Hares players put in today. I could very easily go on and mention every Hares player but there isn’t enough room on the page. M.O.T.M today went to Paul who is starting to show some real promise even though he has only been playing for us for a short time.

In their final game before the League re-shuffle the U12’s travelled to Wymondley hoping for a win to secure their top spot in the table. The Hares got off the mark with a goal by Joey Wedge but the home team soon hit back to make it 1-1. Although not playing at their best this week The Hares were soon back in front with a strike by George Clark. Further goals by Billy Norman, Joey’s second of the game, Barney O’Hara, Luke Spowart, Niall Dedman, Tom Griffiths and another two for George to complete his hat-trick made the final score 1-10 to The Hares. The Hares finish unbeaten and top of the League and hope to take their great form into the next phase, against what will be much stronger oppositions. Well done to all the boys for their efforts so far this year.

A 2-0 win today against Wormley Blacks for the U14s in miserable conditions! 1-0 after half time (Will) with a few scary moments in the second half as the away team came out fighting. The boys kept battling and Crispie scored in the last ten minutes sealing the win. MOTM Crispie.
