Today the U7s played Hitchin Town Tigers U7 away, we tried to play a mix and match with all the players (as we now have a girl in our team I can no longer call them the boys lol) having a go in every position. It was great to see that every one of them played their hearts out in where ever they played!! Well done Team.

Very similar games for the U8 Black and Orange teams this week, both playing away against physical teams content on letting their goal keepers punt it forward out of their hands in pursuit of goals and both Hares teams trying to pass the ball and play from the back.
The difference in styles made for interesting watching, with Hares playing the game on the floor with quick passing and smart movement and the oppositions playing kick and run after it. Fine footballing performances from Both Orange and Black teams.

The U10 Blacks were up against Baldock Knights this morning at home. For the first 10 mins or so Baldock started at full speed attacking, not letting the Blacks have any time on the ball. After a little while Hares started upping their game and getting control of the ball more. Both teams were attacking which made for a great game for the spectators. Second half the Hares didn’t want to let up and continued to attack Baldock. The Blacks football at times was great to watch and really was a fantastic team effort, they were playing the ball around with great confidence and looked like scoring every time they went forward. Baldock though were never going to give up and continued to pressure Hares but in the end the Blacks came away the better team. Goals from Leo, Noah, Paul and Matthew with man of the match going to Oliver.

Well done guys, good performance from the U10 Orange side today, with end to end football being played by both sides. Beeshman’s cool strike for the Hares was a highlight against a strong Letchworth side. Hard one to call but Toby deserved M.O.T.M for driving the team forward.

The U12s returned to Wymondley Park Sunday, this time for a second round League Cup clash. Having won the week before against the same opposition the Hares were full of confidence going into the game, and sure enough it was the away team who opened the scoring with a Joey Wedge goal. A mistake by the home goalkeeper saw Tom Griffiths make it 0-2. Following some neat footwork in the box it was soon 0-3 with Joey Wedge’s 2nd of the game. Michael Erikodi made it 0-4 to the Hares going into half-time. The Hares started the second half as they finished the first and a strong header by Niall Dedman from a Luke Spowart corner made it 5. A foul in the box after a powerful run by Billy Norman resulted in a penalty, and it was Billy who converted the spot kick to make it 6. Joey Wedge completed his hat-trick to make it 0-7 and a brace by Tom Griffiths also confirmed his hat-trick to make it 0-9. Not to be outdone Joey bagged his 4th and the Hare’s 10th of the game. A superb free kick from the edge of the box into the top corner by Barney O’Hara made it 11 and it was Luke Spowart who completed the rout making the final score 0-12 to the Hares. Well done to all the boys for keeping up their great run and progressing through to the next round of the cup. Having moved up a division stronger opposition awaits next week when the Hares return to league action.

A tough game today for the U14s away to Sumners Youth Cobras with the lunchtime kick off being delayed and the ref going AWOL! Very physical but the boys held on to the 3-2 win with some great football throughout the match. Goals from Aus G, Will and Dom G and a worthy MOTM for Daniel for great defending.
