Today the U7s played Royston town falcons U7 away for the last away game of the season. The Hares started really well, the play in the first 10 minutes was end to end both teams had multiple shots on target. Hares let in a goal from a brilliant shot from Royston, then the play moved back in to Royston’s half, a foul on Austin giving us a free kick from outside the box, with Austin taking he shoots on goal and scores. Just before the end of the first quarter Royston get given a penalty. Second quarter starts just as the first one ended, 50/50, end to end play all over the pitch, with Royston scoring and James scoring for the Hares. With the Hares all positive that they could still come back going in to the third quarter, and again the play from both teams was fantastic with Hares wanting to do well. There were more shots on and off target with Austin getting another goal. The last quarter, the Hares going out hungry to finish off the game and get the win the play was again end to end with the Hares scoring more goals. Player of the match:- James for having a brilliant attitude doing what was asked of him.

The U8 Black’s hosted Shefford this Saturday and it was a slightly better performance than recent weeks, Hares started strongly and scored some early goals but Shefford found themselves on the score sheet after a mistake from Hares at the back. With Hares trying to get back to their passing game there were plenty of goal scoring opportunities and the game should have been over early on, Shefford though had other ideas and managed to notch again going into half time. The second half was end to end with chances for both teams, Shefford scored another to see Hares score straight for the re start. As the legs tired the passing of Hares was hard for the away team to live with, some fine team goals and one individual goal for Hares ended a fine game from both teams.

It was the last game of the season for the U8 Orange and what a game, with the players picking the formations and positions it was a very attacking formation, despite this a very low scoring first half saw Shefford take a slender lead into half time. Hares came out strong second half and created several chances before getting the equaliser. There were chance after chance for both team in a very entertaining end to end game, the one at the back and four up front formation from the Hares boys played into the oppositions hands as the Hares boys started to tire and Shefford scored some quick break away goals. Hares also scored a fine team goal with the four attackers combining well, an entertaining game played in the correct spirit from both teams.

The U10 Orange side today played away at Letchworth. Hares once again came out flying, putting the home side under pressure from the start, and were rewarded when Sam B fired home from outside the area. Hares doubled the lead when a Beeshman corner somehow found its way in, deflecting off defender and keeper. The orange side went into half time looking confident and in a strong position. Letchworth upped their game second half and pulled a goal back. With it going end to end the game needed a bit extra. Up stepped Kai S, who picked the ball up from defence, drove forward and released a perfectly timed pass to Beeshman who slotted the ball under the keeper. The game looked over, but with minutes to go Letchworth pulled a goal back. With Hares starting to panic, the home side scored again just on the final whistle. Great to watch at times, and an encouraging end to the season. Good performances from Kai and M.O.T.M Sam B.

The U10 Blacks played their last game of the season on Sunday away at Melbourn. This was the last time the team play 7 aside before moving up to 9 aside next season and the players arrived full of confidence from last weeks game. First half Hares started off very well and had all the play. The Blacks had so much of the play that Melbourn didn’t have one shot on our goal. Second half Melbourne came out full of fight, they caught the Blacks by surprise and played some good football. Half way through the half The Blacks got back into it and really put Melbourne under pressure again.
It was a real pleasure to watch the Blacks as they passed the ball around and worked together as a team. The Blacks came off the pitch all knowing they had played some really good football. Every player in the team should be very proud of themselves for having a great season and hopefully we will progress even further next season. Goals from:- Oliver, Noah, Bradley and from MOTM winner Henry
