Hares under 7s played their first official game this morning against some strong opposition from Biggleswade. The boys played really well, with a couple of great goals and some solid passing and they enjoyed every minute! Well done boys, great game, and thanks to the parents for supporting them in their new adventure. Particular congratulations to Harry for POM nominated by the parents for an outstanding game.

Hares U11 Yellow started their campaign away to Sumners Youth U11 who dominated the first 15 minutes of this game, however, once we settled the game quickly changed. Goals from Javi and Francis were well deserved and we probably could have scored more, with Sumners also getting on the score sheet. Luca did a fantastic job in defensive midfield in the second half, positioning himself cleverly to deal with danger and laying the ball quickly once he’d won it back. Connor was also exceptional on the left as well as Yago who captained the game brilliantly from central defence. It was great to see Sid back at left defence were he did a really good job. Javi’s hat-trick earned him ‘star man’. Well done all

The Under 13s began their League campaign with a tricky visit to Elsenham this weekend. With the addition of 5 new players this year it was always going to take a few games for The Hares to gel. Despite a bright start by the visitors it was Elsenham who took control of the game, and took a commanding 3-0 lead into half time. The second half started as the first half had finished and The Hares soon found themselves 4 down and looking like they were heading for a morale destroying heavy defeat. However the team managed to keep their heads up and began to match their opponents and were rewarded with a goal on his League debut by Sam Griffiths-Jones with 10mins to go. The goal lifted the boys and they soon added another from George Clark to make it 4-2. Unfortunately time was against The Hares and the game finished 4-2 to the home side. Clearly there is a lot of work to be done by both the coaches and players, but hopefully the boys can take some positives from the game and take them into next weeks fixture vs Baldock.
