A goal fest in the under 7s game today against a side from Stevenage Borough. Outstanding MOTM performance from Charlie R and first goals for the club from Charlie H, Finley and Jack, absolutely brilliant. Support as ever from all of the boys in defence and goal keeping showing that they are shaping up to be a really good team. Well done to all involved.

A lunch time KO for the U11 Blacks today, at home against a strong Bishops Stortford team. A game that started well for the away team who had the Blacks on the back foot early on. The Blacks defended well throwing themselves into tackles and blocking shots. Half time came when Hares started to look a bit deflated, the second half started with a slight change to the formation and Hares rolled their sleeves up and really went for it, The Blacks started to move the ball around with much more determination and attacking with purpose. A very entertaining game to watch with both teams playing some good football. Goals from Oliver and MOTM went to Jed today for keeping the Blacks in the game and making some fantastic saves.

I’m starting to think that I am suffering from de’ ja’ vu. This morning our U11 Orange side played at home against Biggleswade Utd in another close encounter. Hares started well on the front foot only to be the victims of a bit of bad luck. Both sides played some good football at times, with the ball going from end to end. The second half continued in same manor with Hares edging the chances but just lacking the final touch. You can’t fault all the boys attitudes throughout the 60 minutes. Tough choice day, but M.O.T.M went to James for being cool under pressure and keeping it simple.

Todays opposition have had a good start to the season putting in some good performances but then so have Hares U11 Yellows. Barnet were strong, physical and well organised so it was always going to be a tough game. We were without Javi and Yago today but we were able to bring Kai into the side and he played Yagos centre back, captains roll brilliantly making sure the defence kept its line and stayed well organised. We struggled to get the ball out to our wide players today so much of the play was through the middle and that will give us something to work on in training. Zane was excellent as always working very hard to break the play up and might easily have been todays star player however that went to Dylan who put in his best right back performance so far this season. Goals today from Luca and Roberto, rounded off excellent performances from them both. Seven games played and the boys are doing very well.

The Under 13s welcomed Hitchin Town Cougars to Ralph Sadlier with a depleted squad of only 9 players. With the coaches setting the team up with damage limitation in mind, the lads knew that they had a long hard game ahead of them. The Hares started brightly and despite their numerical disadvantage, were very much in the game. However it was the visitors who broke the deadlock on 17 mins to make it 0-1. The Hares though were immediately back in the game 2 minutes later when Joey Wedge scored with a sublime lob over the keeper to make in 1-1. 1-1 soon became 2-1 when JW slotted in his second with a neat finish from the right. The Hares were now playing with real confidence and the effort the whole team were putting into the game was reward when JW completed a first half hat-trick to make it 3-1 at the break. Hitchin came out stronger for the second half but The Hares were playing their best football of the season so far, and on 51 mins once again it was JW who lifted the ball over the keeper from distance to make it 4-1. Hitchin Town were able to pull one back to make it 4-2 but The Hares were able to hold out for a well deserved win. A great performance this week from the boys which was enjoyed by both players and supporters alike.
