For the first time, the U7s played an orange and a black side against High Wych on Saturday, which allowed all of the kids extra playing time on the pitch. The games were fairly even, despite the final score lines, and showed how well the boys are developing as a squad. Special mention goes to Vinnie getting his first POM for the Oranges and well done to Samuel for POM for the blacks. It was Stanleys first match back after a break and he was superb, returning on top form. Well done boys.
Today the U8s played Stotfold youth u8 Blacks at Home. Wow what can I say about todays match?
First 10mins :- The game started slow, Stotfold scored within the first 5mins but from then on the flow of the game changed making play go either way. Then Hares Took advantage of a Stotfold mistake which made George take a shot on goal.
Second 10mins :- Started as other finished fair 50/50 play both teams took shots and some fair saves from both keepers.
Third 10mins :- Hares started to take advantage of some sloppy play from Stotfold with Cody c coming out of goal and having a brilliant go at goal. When Betsy got in to a brilliant position having a shot.
Last 10mins :- The game continued the same since the second 10 mins making the game very exciting for both teams, Again Charlie making one of his trademark long shots from just outside the box. Then a through ball to Thomas making him have a shot which was brilliant. Well done team keep it up. Player of the match :- Thomas, Took him some time to get in to the game but once he did he really shone.
Star players :-
Charlie :- Starting to get in the game now and making some good passes.
Mario :- Hasn’t been playing long and saying he doesn’t want to go in goal and when he does makes some brilliant saves!
Betsy :- She deserved this today for being always in the right position at the right time.
This is the second time Hares U11 Yellows have played Wormley in less than two months so we knew to expect a close game. Due to the rain the pitch wasn’t too good today and players sometimes struggled to keep their feet. This made it difficult for us to play the type of passing game we prefer and we definitely suffered in the first half as a result. At half time we talked about being more direct and taking our chances more quickly and as a result we dominated the second half. Sid and Harry shared the left back position today and both did a brilliant job keeping their right sided attacker, who was maybe their best player, very quiet and limiting his chances to score. Zane, and Javi were great in the centre of midfield, the amount of ground they both covered on such a sticky pitch was amazing. Zanes performance earned him todays Star Player award. We all saw from the boys reaction to Francis’ late goal what it meant to them all. They’re a great bunch, a group that’s definitely bigger than the sum of its parts. Well done.
“A game of two halves” it’s sometimes called and today was no exception. The U11 Orange side played at home against Melbourn today. Starting on the front foot, Hares worked hard and moved the ball around, creating some good chances. The home side’s persistence paid off after a fantastic strike from Beeshman, finishing from outside the area. Melbourn came out fighting in the second half and put Hares on the back foot. The game was more scrappy now, with both sides having limited chances. Half way through the second half Melbourn got themselves back in the game followed by a deflected goal. Injuries to both Kai and Beeshman didn’t help the home side. Great strong performances from Sam B and M.O.T.M Harry.
