Cold morning for the under 7s against Royston Town and their second opportunity to play an orange and a black team. The blacks started early and got off to an impressive start with every player on the scoresheet!! Some brilliant passing between the boys demonstrated how well they are growing as a team and developing their skills. POM for Liam for scoring a few, but more importantly the four assists for his teammates.
The oranges managed a little bit of a lay in, but the temperature was still freezing when they kicked off!! The sides were fairly even and again our boys showed real grit and determination and some great passing opportunities. POM for Charlie H for his outstanding work at the back, some great tackles and nearly scored on a couple of occasions.
Well done to all the boys, bring on next weekend!!!
The U8s played at Bishop’s Stortford this morning but it was always going to be difficult with the opposition using players from other squads. But to their credit Hares battled so hard in the cold and wet and never gave up.
This morning our U11 Orange side played away at Letchworth silver. Once again Hares started well, working hard and moving the ball around. A great run and through ball from Toby W to Francis, who finished the move going around the keeper to slide into the open net was the highlight of the first half. With Toby B making some great saves and hares also not taking their chances, half time was upon us. The second half saw a Hares side not quite as organised as the first, with Letchworth taking advantage of this. Poor defending and the changing of positions didn’t help, which the home side took full advantage of. In the end it could have been a different story if Hares had taken some of the many chances. M.O.T.M today went to Sam B for working so hard from start to finish, never dropping his head.
Hares U11 Yellows travelled to Frontier Youth this weekend, this pitch was heavy and we had no substitutes so we knew we were up against it. With goals from Francis and Billy midway through the first half we looked comfortable but in the second half we missed chance after chance and Frontier capitalised on some tired Hares legs to get back in the game. Kai was todays Star Player for a fantastic performance at right back. Still a big well done from me, we actually played very well on a heavy pitch with no substitutes.
