Rain doesn’t dampen the spirits of the under 7s who ventured out to play Stotfold this morning. (Parents on the other hand found it a little chilly!!) The boys played well and continued to show their great sportsmanship by helping out the other side who were short on players. Someone needs to tell Liam not to score two for them though!! Adam played in his debut for the blacks and scored with his first touch of the game, thus deserving his MOTM. Well done. Ethan showed true resilience playing in goal for both games despite the rain and cold and rightly received POTM for the oranges. Well done everyone a very wet morning but hopefully a fun one as well.
Sadly the under 8 where due to play away at Biggleswade town today but it was cancelled😢😢.
Goals from Francis, including a wonderful deft chip over the goalie, and Billy made for a comfortable game for the U11 Yellows against an understrength Cuffley Zeps team. The way we moved the ball was exceptional, long diagonal passes to the flanks and quick balls inside proved difficult to defend against. Luca sat out the first half to stay fresh, in the knowledge that he’d replace Havi at half time (Zane leaving and Havi moving into Zane’s position) and he was exceptional, his quick movement of the ball creating many chances, he provides the team with an exiting option in the midfield. Billy was today’s Star Player for a wonderful performance on the right, again, Billy was always looking to move the ball quickly and capped off a great day with a nice goal. Well done
The Under 13’s beat the winter weather this weekend by welcoming Manuden to Ralph Sadlier for a friendly game. This was going to be a test for The Hares as the visitors play a league up, but the game started relatively even with The Hares matching Manuden both in possession and chances created. However the deadlock was broken by  Manuden with a soft goal that The Hares should have coped better with, and following a now similar patter of recent 1st half performances by The Hares, the visitors soon found themselves 2 up going in to the break. The second half started perfectly for the home side though when George Clark found the net 2 mins from the kick-off to make it 1-2. Unfortunately the boys couldn’t find the confidence boost that the goal should have given them, and with the snow now beginning to fall heavier, the visitors found the net another 2 times, the second coming with the last kick of the game, to make the final score 1-4 to Manuden. A positive to another disappointing display by the team was Dominic Hart’s hard tackling performance which won him MOTM this week.
