No game for the under 7s today due to frozen pitches in Buntingford. Parents got to keep warm ready for the impending snow!! Bring on Stotfold at home next week.

Today Hares U11 Orange travelled to Biggleswade with players missing or struggling with injuries. With players having to play out of position and being asked to cover, Hares struggled in the first half and we found ourselves behind. A shuffle of personnel at half time and a serious team talk, saw a much improved performance in the second half. A fantastic solo effort from Brandon, tucking the ball away in the bottom corner lifted Hares. Even conceding a crazy deflected goal did not stop the boys, with Francis scoring straight away from distance. Chances kept on coming and on another day, we might have had a different outcome. M.O.T.M today went to James for dropping to the back and making it look so easy.

Another Home game for the Under 13’s this week with Plantation Youth the visitors, and with the pitch just about beating the freezing weather the Hares were hoping for an overall better performance than last week. Despite their bright start to the game The Hares found themselves 0-1 down when Plantation Youth found the net on 5 mins. Although going behind early on the lads didn’t let their heads drop and in a much improved showing from last week were able to see the first half out, keeping the score at 0-1. With the boys playing well in the second half they sensed that they could get something from the game, and were rewarded by their hard work when Joey reacted to a mistake by the keeper to stab home and make it 1-1. The Hares now sensed that they could go for the win and it was Joey again who latched on to a loose pass by the defence on the left and finished with a superb low shot into the right hand side of the net to make it 2-1 to The Hares. With time running out for Plantation Youth they pressed the Hares goal, and may have got the equaliser if not for some great saves by Man of the Match Joel in The Hares goal. The game finished with a superb and well deserved 2-1 win for The Hares, which took them up to 3rd in the league and above their visitors.
