The Under 14’s kicked of the new Season with a home game against Waltham Cross this Sunday. The team were dealt a blow before the game with injuries meaning they only had 10 fit players available. Despite the lack of numbers the home side started the brighter of the 2 teams and were enjoying the majority of the play. The Hares were creating plenty of chances but couldn’t find the net until the 30th minute when George Clark finally broke the deadlock to make it 1-0. The home side were rarely threatened by the visitors throughout the game, and would have added more goals to their tally had it not been for numerous wasted chances and a Man of the Match performance from the Waltham Cross Keeper. Although it wasn’t a great performance from The Hares in their season opener, it was a win and 3 points on the board as the game finished 1-0. Jake Williams earned the Hares Man of the Match award for a hard working performance.

Great first match of the new season by the U16s. Drawn away to Stevenage who beat us convincingly at Broadhall 6-2 in one of our last games of the season, we knew it would be a tough game. This proved to be correct with the ball barely getting out of our defending half in the first 20 minutes. We went into the first half 2-0 down with one disallowed goal for us for offside. The boys heads didn’t go down and with the wind behind them they kept battling and it was soon to be paid off by a goal by Dom shortly followed by a great goal from Matt. The game was a battle and the boys kept going which paid off with a header from Dom from a throw in which hit the back of the net. The highlight of the whole game was a run down the left wing by Luke who whipped it across from over 25 yards out in the top right corner! A great team effort by all the boys with MOTM going to Dan
