U8 blacks were at home against Shefford today in what should be their last game in the current division. They started brightly with an opening goal from Samuel and lots of chances that the boys couldn’t quite finish. The opposition fought back and utilised chances when our boys were trying to play football from the back. Great goals from Harry made the home visitors happy and a POTM performance from Reggie who was outstanding all game. Well done boys.
U8 oranges were also home today against a side from Letchworth. A few changes in the home side meant that Liam started in the later kick off, and started proceedings with an opening goal. Jack was soon hot on his heels and wanted to show what a good goal scorer he is becoming. Letchworth were always in the game and with the help of an own goal and some of their own finishes, it made for a very tense morning for all the spectators. POTM performance in defence from Vinnie who was always involved and making his presence known. Well played boys.
Today the U12 yellows entertained Welwyn Fc in a lunchtime ko. Hares started well, moving the ball quickly and came close on numerous occasions. The boys were punished for not taking their chances when then the away side scored two late first half goals. The players continued to move the ball around and were rewarded when Beeshman raced away and slotted home. With the away keeper pulling off some great saves, it took a great finish from Francis to earn a more than well-deserved draw. MOTM today went to Luca for moving the ball around quickly and keeping it simple.
The Under 14’s welcomed Potters Bar to Ralph Sadleir for a League Game this week hoping to put the disappointment of last weekend’s 5-0 drubbing in the cup against Sawbridgeworth behind them. The home team started well and were enjoying plenty of the play and thought they had broken the deadlock when Luke Spowart’s long range effort deflected off both the cross bar and post, only for the ref to rule that the ball hadn’t crossed the line. However soon after the Hares did take the lead when George Clark ran on to Barney O’Hara’s pass to slot the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0. The score somehow stayed the same until mid way through the second half when George C found the net again to make it 2-0. Although The Hares should have added to their tally the game finished with a comfortable win which keeps them undefeated in the league. Sam Barker put in a well deserved Man of the Match performance this week.
