Very cold start this morning for the u8s with both teams playing at home. The blacks started first against Stotfold and soon got involved with an opening goal from Charlie R. We saw our first ever half and half goal with Stanley and Samuel. The latter curled a shot that was heading for the top corner and Stanley s header flicked it over the line. Liam and Reggie also got on the scoresheet and our sterling goalkeepers William and Harry made sure Hares would leave happy. Well done boys, a few weeks rest now, thoroughly deserved as well. POTM performance from Charlie R for some great passing, tackling and the opening goal!!ย

A couple of players missing from the u8 oranges today, as they faced Stevenage Borough on a very cold winters morning. The boys fought well from start to finish but struggled to convert any of their many chances into goals. Charlie R played his best game ever for the Hares and thoroughly deserved his POTM award. Unlucky result today but the boys played so well. All that remains is for the management to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New year.๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽย ย

The Under 14โ€™s travelled to Welwyn Garden City for a tricky away game this weekend. Although the teams were sharing the percentage of play the home side were rarely threatening The Haresโ€™ goal, and the better chances were falling to the visitors. And on 28 minutes The Hares finally converted one of their chances when Luke Spowart slotted home Ben Livermore’s cross from the right to make it 0-1 at half-time. The second half started perfectly for The Hares when Barney Oโ€™Hara poked home within 2 minutes of the re-start to make it 0-2. The Hares were continuing to control the game and it was George Clark who scored the 3rd with a clever flick over the keeper with 15 minutes to go. Unfortunately The Hares couldnโ€™t hold on for a clean sheet when Welwyn split the visitors defence apart to score with 2 minutes remaining. A disciplined last few minutes from The Hares by keeping the ball in safe areas within Welwyn’s half saw them see the game out with a good 1-3 win. The result sees The Under 14โ€™s top the league going into the Christmas and New Year break. Well done to the team this year which has finished on a high, hopefully they can pick up from where they have finished in 2019. The U14s wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
