The Under 14’s travelled to Lemsford for their League Cup Semi-Final this weekend, and with only 10 players available the boys knew that they were going to have to be at their best to reach the Final. Despite their numerical disadvantage The Hares looked the stronger side right from the start, and on 16 minutes they deservedly took the lead when Barney O’Hara reacted quickest after the goalkeeper fumbled George Clark’s shot. The Hares doubled their lead on 23 minutes when Joey Wedge found the net after his shot took a deflection off the keeper. The second half continued in the same manner as the first with The Hares enjoying the most of the possession and it only took 12 minutes for the visitors to extend their lead when Joey Wedge scored his second, and the Hares’ 3rd of the game after a strong run down the right wing before coolly slotting the ball pass the keeper. With the game won the boy’s excellently saw the game out without any real scares and they booked themselves a spot in the final on May 12th. An excellent all round performance by the team this week but it was Dom Hart who eared himself MOTM with an outstanding solid performance at the back.
