No game for the u8 blacks this morning, but the u8 oranges were up nice and early with a 9.30am kick off away at Royston. No Louis this morning but all the other boys were back fit and well and looking forward to playing some football. They started well with an early goal from Adam but Royston soon fought back and started to take control of the game. Hares boys stayed positive and a few more goals including another one from leading goal scorer Jack, meant for a very tense morning of football. MOTM performance from Leo. Well done boys, home game next week
The Under 14’s welcomed Potters Bar to Ralph Sadlier this Sunday hoping to keep their league title challenge on track. With players missing The Hares could only field a team of 10, so they knew they had to be at their very best to get anything from the game.
The home side had the better of the share of chances in the first half, but neither side could find the net and the teams went into half time level at 0-0. Despite their numerical disadvantage The Hares started the second half the stronger side, and it only took George Clark 2 minutes to break the deadlock when he lobbed the keeper to make it 1-0. 1-0 became 2-0 13 minutes into the half when GC scored his second of the game with a powerful shot pass the keeper. Not content with his brace, GC completed his hat-trick 8 minutes later when Barney O’Hara found him with a neat through ball from the right, and finished with another powerful shot pass the keeper. The game was well and truly truly over with 8 minutes remaining when Jake Craddock this time was the provider for GC to score his 4th of the game to make the final score 4-0 to The Hares. An excellent performance by the boys this week, especially in the second half which should give them plenty of confidence going into next week’s all important game vs Hoddesdon Town. George Clark deservedly won MOTM, not only for his goals but for his general all round performance.
