Officially formed in October 2000 the club became one of the youngest teams to be awarded the Charter Standard status after just 2 years, which was then closely followed with the prestigious Queens Award for Voluntary Service.
With years of growth and success both on and off the field, problems began when the local parish council put a number of barriers up against us – the club had to play at a number of different pitches to cater for all our teams, which ultimately lead to the club losing it’s core and roots and in the space of 3 years reduced from 22 teams including a ladies adult side to 14 teams 2 years ago.
Thankfully the club ethos and committee stayed strong and having now joined up with both Ralph Sadleir School in a school sports partnership and Braughing Parish Recreation Ground the club has once again found a strong base to both develop and grow once more.
Our Academy lead by Rob Cavill is linked in with Roger de Claire first school and offers fun, enjoyment and the best start in your childs football and team development.
This season (2016/17) we have teams in the Royston Crow League at Under 7, Under 8, Under 10, Under 11 & Under 12’s with our Under 18 girls playing in the Herts Girls Football Partnership and Under 14 and Under 15 in the Mid Herts Rural Minors League.
A number of our teams enjoyed some success last season, with our Under 13’s doing the double winning the RCYFL Div 1 and League Cup and our Under 14’s winning the MHRML Division Cup.
The future looks incredibly positive and with the potential we now have Hares Youth is back on the map, and the club would like to thank our players, parents / guardians and also sponsors for their continued support and commitment to the club.
